Crockpot Meats

I love a good crockpot/slow cooker recipe. It brings me joy to spend 5 minutes putting something in the crock pot before work and walking into the kitchen 8 hours later to the delicious smell of a home-cooked meal! This recipe is universal for meat – chicken, beef, pork, lamb, turkey. Bone in or bone out. I like to batch-cook a huge piece of meat, shred it, and then freeze it for different meals. We make pho, stir-fry, tacos, salads and change the seasonings when we reheat.

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp of apple cider vinegar (red wine, rice or your favorite vinegar will also work)
  • 1 – 1.5 cups of bone broth, I like Kettle and Fire, or water, depending on the amount of meat. It should cover the meat halfway.
  • 2 – 3 lbs of meat of your choice – bone or no bone

Instructions

  1. Add apple cider vinegar and broth/water to the crockpot
  2. Place the meat in the crockpot.
  3. Cook on low for 8 hours
  4. Shred and eat! Add seasonings after it’s cooked

Notes

  • Freezes well – I put portions in silicon bags. I don’t flavor anything until I’m ready to serve. That makes this way more versatile!
