CGM Beta Group

Some exciting news to share: I have partnered with a practitioner platform and am now able to work with Continuous Glucose Monitors (CGM) in my practice! This is a HUGE deal and a wonderful tool that I can’t wait to incorporate into my practice.

What is a CGM?

It is a small device (the size of a dime) with a little wire that you stick on the back of your arm. It then takes your real-time blood sugar levels and sends them to an app for about 2 weeks. This data paired with the information you put in the app about your sleep, diet, exercise, and stress levels creates a narrative about how metabolically healthy your body is.

How is this different from the blood sugar I get at my annual physical?

The blood sugar level you get at your annual physical is one data point at one time on one day. It can only tell you your blood sugar levels that morning under those conditions. With a CGM you can see trends, patterns, and make real time adjustments to improve your metabolic health. This is actionable information that you can use to improve your health and how you feel right now.

For more on how blood sugar levels affect your health and mood, check out my article here.

Is a CGM right for me?

  • Are you interested in learning more about your metabolic and long term-health?

  • Do you experience energy crashes during the day?

  • Are you tired all the time?

  • Do you get HANGRY?

  • Do you have to eat every few hours?

  • Does not having food easily accessible give you anxiety?

  • Do you get shaky, heart palpitations, headaches, sweaty, anxious or nervous when you NEED to eat?

  • Have you gained weight and it won’t come off the way it used to?

  • Did your doctor tell you because of your blood work you need medication for high cholesterol, blood pressure, or glucose control?

  • Have you been diagnosed with pre-diabetes or insulin resistance?

  • Does your family have a history of diabetes, cardiovascular disease, hypertension or metabolic dysfunction?

Balanced Blood Sugar

Stable blood sugar means sustained energy with no crashes during the day! Fewer cravings, fewer mood swings, easier weight loss, better sleep, fewer medications, and a happier, nicer YOU! A CGM with nutrition and lifestyle guidance is a wonderful real time tool to help you feel good now.

There are more than 40 things that affect our blood sugar levels and only 1/4 of those are the foods we eat. I help my clients figure out what is driving their glucose spikes with real time feed back - on your phone!!! Then I help them to strategize ways to feel better and more like themselves.
